Obesity Rates on the Rise in 28 States
June 30th, 2010 | Published in Eating Better, Health News, Reports and Studies
Obesity rates in America continue to climb, rising in 28 states in the past year. A report released this week titled “F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2010,” shows that 38 states have obesity rates of more than 25 percent, and almost one-third of American children are considered obese. Washington DC is the only area Only one area that reported a lower obesity rate in the annual report. Perhaps Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” campaign is really paying off quickly!
The Wall Street Journal covers the story and links to this map showing the levels of obesity from state to state.
